The heaviest operational tank used by any army was the estimated 75-tonne (165,346-lb) 12-man French Char de Rupture 2C bis of 1923, carrying a 15.5-cm (6.1-in) howitzer and powered by two 250-hp (186-kW) engines giving a maximum speed of 12 km/h (7.5 mph).
